Kurdish people keeping their one thousand year's tradition annually in the region of Hewraman, Iran.
İran’ın Hewraman bölgesinde yaşayan Gorani Kürtleri, bin yıllık bir geleneği günümüzde de yaşatmayı sürdürüyor. Zagros Dağları’nın eteklerinde yer alan Uraman Taht köyünde yaşamış olan Pir Şaliyar’ı anmak için her yıl kış mevsiminde bir araya gelen halk, onun efsanevi düğününü ritüel eşliğinde yeniden canlandırıyor.
This animated short film tells the story of a Mongolian teenager who, desperate to prove his adulthood to the elders of his village, attempts to capture a reindeer on his own. What begins as a physical challenge quickly transforms into a spiritual rite of passage. After a failed attempt and a near-death experience beneath a frozen lake, the boy reconnects with a profound memory of his father teaching him about throat singing.
Yetişkinliğini köyünün büyüklerine kanıtlamak için çaresizce kendi başına bir ren geyiği yakalamaya çalışan Moğol bir gencin hikayesi. Fiziksel bir meydan okuma olarak başlayan şey, hızla ruhsal bir geçiş törenine dönüşür. Ahmet is an 11-year-old middle school student. Since he ripped his trousers while playing ball at school, he needs to have his trousers patched with the money he received from his father. He decides to change the color of the patch to red to impress his classmate Yağmur. He comes close to being harassed at the tailor his father sent him to. When he returns home, his father goes crazy when he sees the red patch and forcing Ahmet to confront the tailor once again.
Ahmet 11 yaşında bir ortaokul öğrencisidir. Okulda top oynarken pantolonunu yırttığı için babasından aldığı parayla pantolonunun yamasını yaptırmak zorunda kalır.. Sınıf arkadaşı Yağmur'u etkilemek için yamanın rengini kırmızıya çevirmeye karar verir. Babasının gönderdiği terzide tacize uğramanın eşiğine gelir. Eve döndüğünde kırmızı lekeyi gören babası çılgına döner ve Ahmet'i bir kez daha terziyle yüzleşmeye zorlar.
"Motion" focuses on the recording of a ritual dance performance performed in the enchanting atmosphere of a historical bathhouse. The performance moves in harmony with the historical texture of the place and invites the audience to travel back in time. The stone walls, dome and muqarnas decorations of the bath create an environment in which time disappears under the deep traces of the past and the past and future turn into a portal that affects each other.

IDODO adapts a local legend by the Ziag Zagaz clan of Papua New Guinea into film and brings the diverse and unique cultural heritage of Papua New Guinea to an international audience. The animated short film retells the story of how reef fish got their beautiful colours and is a dedicated collaboration between filmmakers, artists, performers and musicians from Papua New Guinea and PNG-born Swiss director Ursula Ulmi, rooted in cultural authenticity and co-creation.
Long ago the fish transformed into humans and came onto land to celebrate and dance. Once the sun set, they hurried back into the sea, leaving behind a big mess. Curious as to who occupied the village in their absence, the villagers of one island plan to find out who these uninvited visitors were. What they would soon discover, leaves them astounded and mesmerized.
IDODO, Papua Yeni Gine'deki Ziag Zagaz klanının yerel bir efsanesini filme uyarlıyor ve Papua Yeni Gine'nin çeşitli ve benzersiz kültürel mirasını uluslararası izleyiciyle buluşturuyor. Animasyon kısa film, resif balıklarının güzel renklerine nasıl kavuştuğunu rivayet hikayeyi yeniden anlatıyor. Nowruz (Nowruz is the Iranian New Year) is near. The old man is busy doing things to welcome spring, but the old woman is desperate for life and keeps grumbling that she will die soon and why no one is with them and they are alone. But the old man says that they should live with hope as long as they are alive. One morning, when the old man was painting the fences of the porch, he had a stroke and died. Now the old woman has to decide whether to continue to live hopelessly or... she looks at the things in the house and the old man's finished and unfinished works and decides to finish the old man's unfinished works.
Nevruz (Nevruz İran'ın yeni yılıdır) yaklaşırken, . yaşlı adam baharı karşılamak için bir şeyler yapmakla meşguldür, ancak yaşlı kadın hayata karşı ilgisizdir. Johannes Vang (2001) is a Sámi-Kven director and producer from Ráisa – Nordreisa, along the coast of Sápmi. As the founder of Aurinko Film and co-owner of Rett Vest, he passionately crafts films that celebrate and elevate the rich narratives of Sami, Kven, and Northern Norwegian society, culture, and identity.

It is a local folk tale about a spell writer who refuses to write an amulet for a woman possessed by jinn. However, the spell writer’s son, Abbas, secretly uses his father’s books in an attempt to solve the woman’s crisis. Along the way, Abbas places both himself and his father in the path of the jinn’s torment—torment that ultimately leads to Kazem’s death.

Torn between leaving his homeland or staying to fight for it, Ahmet must make a difficult choice. His struggle reflects the profound and universal disruptions caused by climate change, as well as the resilience required to face an uncertain future.

Kerem (35) wants to inform his father, who lives alone in the village, that he is moving abroad. During his visit, he realizes that his father has an imaginary friend. Kerem, who sees this situation caused by his father's loneliness as a kind of illness, unwittingly tries to cut the only branch that his father clings to in life.

We are hosting the 1st International Indigenous Culture Film Festival (InCuFF), presented by Polen Film, in Denizli on October 23-25, 2025. We welcome submissions from around the world that explore local and indigenous cultures, including short fiction films, short documentaries, animations, experimental shorts, music videos, reels, and photography. Submissions are open until October 1, 2025.
INCUFF is a comprehensive festival that offers a dynamic space for exchange, featuring screenings of finalist films on Indigenous cultures, exhibitions of selected photographs, and discussions with filmmakers, artists, and academics. It creates a rich environment for both local and international participants to connect and engage.
Our festival is committed to supporting the revival of local cultures worldwide and promoting meaningful dialogue between diverse cultural traditions. With this aim, we are reaching out to filmmakers, artists, and academics engaged in the fields of local and indigenous culture.
In order to provide greater visibility to the work of independent filmmakers, musicians, and photographers who focus on local culture worldwide, we have kept our submission fees at a symbolic level. Artists from different regions who are engaged in cultural expression are invited to apply at this reduced rate. Short films, music videos, reels, AI films, documentary and photography projects that reflect local culture are welcomed.
We will be delighted to host the finalist artists during the festival in Denizli, one of Türkiye’s most beautiful and touristic cities. We would be thrilled to see your work featured at our festival.

We Are Discovering The Roots
The local cultures of the world meet in Denizli.
Short films about different indigenous cultures of the world will be screened at the Indigenous Culture Film Festival (INCUFF) on October 23-25, 2025.
Fiction, Documentary, Animation, Short Films, Music Clips, and Photography works from all over the world will be screened in INCUFF's comprehensive programs.
The festival will also include talks and conferences about local cultures.

With its unique architectural design and spacious halls, Merkezefendi Culture Center will host INCUFF audiences on October 23-25.

Rural FilmFestival is an international film festival that focuses on films related to the rural world, nature, the environment and sustainability. It was created in 2013 by filmmakers Alberto Gutierrez and Jaume Quiles.
Its main objective is to disseminate and highlight stories and perspectives that revolve around the countryside, ecology, natural heritage and rural communities, creating a meeting point for filmmakers, audiences and professionals interested in these topics. The festival is characterised by travelling and open-air screenings of short and feature films, including documentaries, fiction and animation. It organises parallel activities such as workshops, round tables, talks with filmmakers, routes and excursions to natural environments. It stands out for its community spirit, seeking to raise awareness among urban and rural audiences of the importance of conserving the environment and transmitting values of respect for nature. Rural FilmFest is held in Camp d'Elx (province of Alicante, Spain) and combines the appeal of the natural heritage of the palm grove and the Elche landscape with a film programme that highlights sustainability and the dialogue between culture and the environment.
The festival is part of the GFN (Green Film Network) and the Pantalla Federation.

Ayzat Madikova Özer
I was born in Kyrgyzstan. I studied Journalism in Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University and had my Master's degree at the same university. I had my doctorate degree at Anadolu University Sinema and TV department of Social Sciences Institute. I worked as an academician in the Cinema-TV Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts of a state university in Türkiye for 12 years. Since 2023, I have been the director of a company focused on film production and academic translation. As an academician, I organized workshops at film and theater festivals and universities in Türkiye and abroad. I carried out cinema and photography projects on the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Local Culture. Our photography project titled "Nomadic Kyrgyz in the Tian Shan Mountains" was exhibited in England, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Türkiye.
Our environmental documentary films, especially "Büyük Menderes", were screened at major film festivals in Türkiye and abroad, winning international awards.
We carried out photography projects in the Central Asian Turkic Republics, as well as photography projects in Iceland, Finland, and Ireland.
Currently, besides our new short film and photography projects, my team and I are launching InCuFF.

Yavuz Özer
Born in Denizli. Graduated from Denizli High School (1996), Selcuk University Faculty of Communication Department of Radio Television and Cinema Graduate Program (2002), Postgraduate Program (2006). He had hşs doctorate degree at Ege University Department of Radio Television and Cinema Doctorate Program (2013). Has been working as an academician since 2002. Did research on “History of the Turkish Visual Culture” as a guest of the “Kazakhstan Almaty Jurgenov Art Academy” in 2010. Gave graduate and postgraduate lessons on “Scriptwriting” and “Cinema” as a guest lecturer in a variety of universities in Denmark, Finland, Poland and Macedonia. Participated in workshops on art and creativity as a guest in Spain, Latvia and Greece. Organized workshops on “Scriptwriting” at various festivals and activities in Estonia, Poland and Türkiye. Conducted photography projects in Finland, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekstan, Spain, Iceland and Ireland with the main theme of “Indigenous Culture”. Organized personal photography exhibitions in England, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Türkiye. Was invited to national/international activities on environment with his documentary films attracting attention to environmental pollution. Still gives graduate and postgraduate lessons on Cinema.

Jaume Quiles
Born in Elche, he studied Journalism, Audiovisual Communication and a Master's Degree in Audiovisual Content and Formats. He holds a PhD in Social Sciences and is a professor at Miguel Hernández University in Elche in the area of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising. At the age of 14, he took his first steps in the audiovisual medium, filming more than twenty short films
that were screened and awarded at national and international festivals. Since 2008, he has worked as an assistant director on feature films directed by José Luis Cuerda, Bigas Luna, Gerardo Herrero, Miguel Albadalejo, Marcelo Piñeyro, Sebastián Borenstein, Roberto Santiago, Adán Aliaga, Chema García Ibarra, among many others. He is co-founder, alongside Alberto Gutiérrez, of the audiovisual production company Cinema 4 Latas Coop. V. and co-director of the International Rural and Environmental Film Festival Rural FilmFest in 2013. His latest works as a director explore narrative minimalism as a form of artistic expression within the experimental field. The documentary Bine aţi venit în casa mea, Piva and Pesticidas were selected for the Curts catalogue of the best Valencian short films published by the Valencian Institute of Cinematography.

Zeynep Elif Yağcı
Born on October 29, 1982, in Ankara. She completed her primary, secondary, and high school education in Ankara. Graduated from Süleyman Demirel University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Graphic Design. She had master's degree in Management and Organization department at Ahmet Yesevi University.
Began her professional career as a designer at a textile company, later taking on a role at Denizli Municipality involving graphic design and organizational tasks. In 2014, she transferred to Merkezefendi Municipality and took an active role in the fields of culture and organization. In the 2019 elections, she was appointed as Director of Culture and Social Affairs by the Merkezefendi Mayor, Ms. Şeniz Doğan. In 2023, she became Deputy Mayor with the approval of Mayor Doğan in the Turkish General Elections and continues to serve in this role.
As part of the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Yağcı has played a pioneering role in projects targeting women in particular, across all areas of education, health, politics, and society. She has carried out work supporting women's entrepreneurship and has been involved in numerous organizations that make women's labor visible. In this regard, Yağcı has pioneered new achievements for women in professional, artistic, and social fields.
Her greatest wish is for beautiful projects to be realized in Denizli and for women to be able to thrive more strongly in these lands, where so much effort has been invested.

Ümit Şıracı
Born in 1973 in Denizli, he has been working in professional search and rescue for 25 years and is also a diving instructor. In 2009, he founded the Dosev association, and since then, he has been conducting continuous nature walks in Denizli. He organizes trips around Türkiye. He has research and discoveries on Turkish culture and history. He has published numerous articles and a book titled Deep Denizli with Mythologies.

David Duffy is a writer, copy editor and proofreader based in the UK. His academic background is in European and comparative literature, with a strong interest in continental philosophy and psychoanalytical thought.

İki Telli Kozağaç Curası ve Ses Sanatçısı
Nesilden nesile, kuşaktan kuşağa aktarılan kültür mirasının 4. kuşak temsilcisi olan Sabri Özdemir, 1800’lü yıllardan bu yana ailesinde icra edilen İki Telli Kozağaç Curasının son temsilcisidir. Küçük yaşlarda dedesi Sabri Özdemir’in yanında sanat hayatına başladı.
8 yaşında Burdur Belediyesi’nin açmış olduğu koroyu kazanarak şan eğitimi aldı. Ardından dedesi ve ustası Sabri Özdemir’in öğretileriyle halk oyunu yarışmalarında cura icra etti. Dedesiyle birçok kültürel çalışmada yer aldı.
Dedesi Sabri Özdemir’in vefatı üzerine 2023 yılında emaneti devralarak hem icra hem eğitim alanında aktif rol aldı.
Birçok öğrenci yetiştirdi; iki telli curanın gelişiminde büyük katkılar sağladı; farklı teknikler ortaya koyarak çalım biçimlerini genişletti. Teke yöresinde unutulmuş eserleri yeniden gün yüzüne çıkarmak için çalışmalar yaptı.

İki Telli Kozağaç Curası ve Ses Sanatçısı
Burdur Altınyayla (Dirmil) doğumlu Yasin Akkaya, genç yaşta yöresel nefesli çalgısı sipsi ile tanışmış ve Dirmilli ustaların yanında çıraklık yaparak müzik yolculuğuna başlamıştır. Turkiyedeki en önemli Sipsi ustalarından aldığı eğitimle bugün Sipsi müzik aletinin yaşayan ustalarından biri hâline gelmiştir. Akkaya, sipsi yapımcılığı alanında da çalışmakta, TRT ve Kültür Bakanlığı sanatçılarına ve çeşitli yabancı sanatçılara sipsi üretimi sağlamaktadır. T.C. Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı Somut Olmayan Kültürel Miras Taşıyıcısı unvanına sahip olan sanatçı, lisansüstü eğitimini sürdürmekte ve araştırmacı kimliğiyle yöresel müzik ve kültürel mirası aktarmaktadır.

Gerçekleştirdiği ağaç dikme, tohum topu hazırlama ve ormanlık alanlarda tohum topu atma faaliyetleri ile tek başına bir çevre hareketi başlatan Deniz Seçkin, INCUFF'a Mehmet Ali Poyraz'ın yönettiği, 'Tree Man' filmi ile konuk oluyor. Film gösteriminin ardından Deniz Seçkin ve Mehmet Ali Poyraz'ın katılacağı söyleşide doğa için ne yapılabilir? konusu tartışılacak. Söyleşi sonunda ayrıca INCUFF seyircilerine fidan dağıtılacaktır.
Türk Belgesel Film Yönetmeni Süha Arın'ın 'Tahtacı Fatma' Filmi Özel Gösterimi
Türk Belgesel Sinema tarihinin en önemli filmlerinden olan 1979 yapımı 'Tahtacı Fatma' belgesel filmi, Anadolu'da Türk kültürünün taşıyıcısı 'Tahtacı' olarak bilinen orman köylüleri Türkmenlerin yaşamını anlatıyor. Tahtacı Fatma karakteri ile Anadolu'da Alevi Türkmen yaşamına konuk oluyoruz. Türküler, semah dansları ve küçük bir köylü kızın hayalleri ile 'Tahtacı Fatma' belgeseli bir Yerel Kültür ve Sinema şölenine dönüşüyor.
